Kail Secures More Than $5.4 Million in State Funding for 15th District
HARRISBURG – Rep. Joshua D. Kail (R-Beaver/Washington) announced today four entities in the 15th District will receive more than $5.4 million combined in state funding, from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), to assist with ongoing projects.
“I am pleased that we could secure this funding for our district as we continue to find ways to improve our region for everybody,” said Kail. “Because of these effective allocations, our tremendous community resources will continue to play significant roles in the district I am very honored to represent. I’d also like to thank Sen. Vogel’s office for his work.”
Below is a breakdown of funding allocations and project descriptions:
• Beaver Area School District - $2.484 million toward the complete removal (including foundations, concrete pool deck and filtration components) of the existing six-lane natatorium and replace with a new six-lane pool with partial stainless steel sidewalls and integral stainless steel gutters; new pool filtration; pool water heating equipment; and a chlorine evacuator system. Additionally included are new doors, frames, windows and replacement of an existing exterior concrete plaza immediately adjacent to the pool.
• $1.5 million to go towards the complete renovation of an existing 50,000-square-foot warehouse in Midland Borough that has remained an unused relic from a prior industry. Despite now having public utilities available, the entire warehouse requires significant renovation to make it building code compliant.
• $1 million to assist with phase two of an industrial park project in Center Township, which consists of constructing a second building to create office space. The building will be equipped with interior and exterior signage, restrooms, plumbing and HVAC.
• Heritage Valley Health System Inc. - $495,000 to prepare room space in the Nuclear Department in Radiology in Brighton Township; install new lead-lined walls; install new storage components and staff workspace; remove and install the current internal wall to enlarge the scanning room; repair flooring and wall; remove and install wall of CT scanning room; repair flooring and wall surfaces; and reinstall new scanning equipment in expanded treatment rooms.
Funding for the project was authorized by lawmakers in the Capital Budget Project Itemization Act.
