CENTER TOWNSHIP – To improve the Independence Township Community Park in Washington County, Rep. Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington) advocated for a $242,824 grant that was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) today. The funding will provide additional healthy living activities for visitors of the park.

The project includes grading and excavation of three areas to install a half-mile dog trail, pavilion with kitchen facilities and ice skating pad with liner. Also included will be the installation of shade trees and seeding.

“Community parks offer free recreational and exercise options, so I’m excited to announce that more than $242,000 is coming home for the benefit of District 15 residents and their canine companions because this grant request was approved,” Kail said.

The total project cost is $285,676.

The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth and holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
