HARRISBURG – Rep. Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington) issued the following statement regarding his budget priorities after Gov. Tom Wolf touted a 46% Personal Income Tax increase in his annual budget address less than a year after he prevented millions from working:
“Gov. Tom Wolf showed Pennsylvania his vision for our future: taxes, taxes and more taxes. Unfortunately, instead of advancing pro-worker and pro-growth policies, we still have the same problems that we had when the governor was elected in 2014, and he’s still trying to use the same failed tax policy in response. It’s time to take a new approach to jumpstart the economy.
“This year especially, people don’t have time to waste on ideas that won’t advance Pennsylvania. Families, workers and businesses are still suffering immensely because of the pandemic, so it’s time to work on what will really help them.
“My colleagues and I have been working on a plan to put the Commonwealth COVID Comeback in high gear, and while we won’t be unveiling it until later this month, I can assure you that it won’t involve smoking dope or raising taxes on hard-working Pennsylvanians as a solution. It’s time to get serious about facilitating a pro-jobs, pro-family and pro-growth economy.”
