BEAVER, PA—Yesterday, the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) announced Comcast Cable Communications, LLC is the recipient of Broadband Infrastructure Program (BIP) grant awards to be benefited by Beaver and Washington counties. Beaver County is receiving just over $4.2 million, and Washington County is receiving nearly $27 million. These grants are derived from a total of $204 million in federal funding and are part of an overall effort by the PBDA to expand broadband in unserved and underserved areas throughout Pennsylvania.

“Broadband is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity, and yet too many Pennsylvanians are without broadband connectivity, especially in rural areas,” said Rep. Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington). “I am delighted to learn that Beaver and Washington counties are receiving these awards. With this funding, we will create more opportunities for Pennsylvanians.”
