ATLASBURG, PA—Pennsylvania American Water has been awarded $15.5 million in low-interest loans from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for two water main extension projects in Washington County. The projects will provide safe and reliable public water service and increased fire protection capabilities to nearly 60 homes, a public school district and a fire department, as announced in a press release from Pennsylvania American Water.
“Access to clean water is a basic need, and thus improving our infrastructure to meet this need is critical. I am thrilled that Washington County will benefit from these loans to increase access to, and reliability of, clean water and safeguard our communities,” said Rep. Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington).
